Introduction
In general, Epheket members can often be found at #epheket an a FreeNode IRC server. Here is the information on where we gather:
- Network: FreeNode
- Main Server: irc.freenode.net
- Port: 6667
- Channel: #epheket
- Channel Contact: Constitutive Members
If you do not know what IRC client to use, we suggest KVIrc, mIRC, Opera, X-Chat, or
our web-based IRC client.
Public Relations
Note: If you need to get in touch with the developers of a particular Epheket project, please check who is involved with it
first.
For general information, or when not sure who contact with, you may want to get in touch with Constitutive Members submitting
a support request or trying to catch them on IRC. We do not provide any support via e-mail.
Webmasters
Maintaining every group presence on the web is a daunting task. Nevertheless we do not have any dedicated team of webmasters
who keep our site looking sharp and up-to-date. If you have a question regarding web site, then you should contact with any Epheket
Constitutive Member.
IRC Rules
- Anyone welcome: Anyone is welcome to come by and participate, ask questions, etc.
- Bots: In general, not allowed without the approval of Constitutive Members.
- Channel Operators: All those with SVN commit access are eligible to be channel operators.
- Illegal stuff: Discussions about illegal activities are not permitted at any time. Please do not paste any links to 3rd party software and/or websites. Advertisements are also not welcommed.
- Language: This is an iternational channel, what does not mean multilanguage. English is the only one allowed.
- Professionalism: Please try to keep conversations civil at all times.
- Topical conversation: It is fine to talk about whatever you want, as long as you are not flooding the channel.
Failure to respect these rules will result in a kick. Repeated offenses will result in bans of variable duration!
IRC Guidelines and Philosophy
The above rules will only be invoked in the worst cases of abuse. In normal, day-to-day usage of the channels, a simpler
set of rules applies, silently agreed upon by regular users. To avoid an unpleasant experience, try to respect them.
- Ask for help, not free work: You can ask for help on specific programming issues, even if they aren't related to any our project, but we will not develop it for you, or do your homework.
- Be a decent person: No racism, sexism, homophobia or other kinds of grossly offensive behavior.
- Do not evade bans: Almost all bans will be short-lived time periods.
- No colored/bold/italic text, or Microsoft Comic Chat: self-explainatory.
- No entitlement: All our projects are hobby projects relying entirely on the work of volunteers; nobody involved owes anything to you.
